Privacy Policy
Last updated October 12, 2026
PhotoFlood is built so that your photos and videos never leave your device. This policy describes what the app does and does not do with your information.
What we collect
Nothing. PhotoFlood has no accounts, no analytics, no advertising and no crash-reporting service. The app does not send your photos, videos, file names or any other data to us or to any third party. We operate no server that receives data from the app.
What stays on your device
- Your media. Files you choose are read from the location you pick and written to your Photos library using Apple's Photos framework.
- The import journal. To resume interrupted imports and avoid duplicates, the app stores a local database containing file names, sizes, content fingerprints (SHA-256 hashes) and the identifiers of items it added to Photos. Deleting the app deletes this database.
- The library index. If you turn on duplicate detection across your library, the app computes fingerprints of existing Photos items on the device and stores them locally.
Permissions
- Photos. Needed to add items to your library and, if you enable it, to check for existing copies.
- Files you select. The app can only read the archives and folders you explicitly choose.
iCloud Photos
If you use iCloud Photos, items added to your library are synced by Apple under Apple's privacy policy. When checking for duplicates, the app does not download originals from iCloud unless you allow it.
Purchases
The one-time unlock is processed by Apple through the App Store. We do not receive your name, email address or payment details.
Diagnostic reports
You can export a diagnostic report from Settings. It is created on your device and shared only if you choose to send it. It contains counts, error codes and app version; file names are included only if you opt in.
Children
The app does not collect personal information from anyone, including children.
Changes
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new date.
